The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) <\/b>of the U.S. Department of the Treasury <\/b>has added 22 individuals <\/b>and 104 entities<\/b>, with touchpoints in more than 20 countries or jurisdictions, to the list of targeted sanctions<\/b>. The purpose of these provisions is to target<\/b> those who try to circumvent or evade sanctions <\/b>and other economic measures against Russia, the channels Russia uses to acquire critical technology, its future energy extraction capabilities, and Russia\u2019s financial services sector. OFAC<\/b> has also issued an amendment to Directive 4<\/b><\/a> pursuant to E.O. 14024 requiring U.S. entities to report <\/b>any property<\/b> in their possession or control in which the Central Bank<\/b>, the National Wealth Fund<\/b> or the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation <\/b>have an interest.<\/p>\n
