These updates will <strong>restrict<\/strong> the <strong>People\u2019s Republic of China\u2019s<\/strong> (PRC\u2019s) ability to both purchase and <strong>manufacture<\/strong> certain high-end <strong>chips<\/strong> used in military applications build on prior policies, company-specific actions, and less public regulatory, legal, and enforcement actions taken by BIS.<\/p>\n<p>The export controls restrict the PRC\u2019s ability to <b>obtain advanced computing chips,<\/b> develop and maintain supercomputers, and manufacture advanced semiconductors.
