The Twentieth Sanctions Package of the European Union against Russia includes measures aimed at intensifying economic and political pressure. Key updates include additional restrictions on key sectors of the Russian economy, new limitations on individuals and entities linked to violations of Ukraine’s sovereignty, and the extension of sanctions to areas that further threaten Ukraine’s territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
On April 23, 2026, the Twentieth Package of sanctions against Russia was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.<\/p>\n
The new restrictive measures are based on the following provisions:<\/p>\n
responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine. Designated entities include both Russian companies and their executives, <\/b>as well as individuals and entities from other nationalities <\/b>(e.g., Emiratis, Chinese, etc.). As a direct consequence of the inclusion in Annex I, all funds and economic resources owned, held, or controlled by these individuals and entities are frozen, and it is prohibited to directly or indirectly provide funds or economic resources to them, or make them available to their benefit.<\/p>\n
Under Regulation (EU) 2025\/2033, 60 entities <\/b>have been added <\/b>to Annex IV <\/b>of Regulation (EU) 833\/2014,<\/b> identifying entities that directly support the Russian military-industrial complex in the war of aggression against Ukraine. Some of these entities are based in third countries<\/b>, outside of Russia, and indirectly contribute to strengthening Russia’s military and technological capabilities, thereby facilitating the circumvention of export restrictions, including those related to computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools, microelectronics, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) components, microelectronics products, maritime equipment, and components of other vehicles and machinery.<\/p>\n
These entities are now subject to an export ban on dual-use goods or goods and technologies that contribute to enhancing the technological capabilities of Russia\u2019s defense and security sector as listed in Annex VII, as well as a ban on providing technical assistance, brokering services, or financial assistance related to these goods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
