\"\"On 18 November 2024, the Council of the European Union widened the scope of the EU framework for restrictive measures in view of Iran\u2019s military support to Russia\u2019s war of aggression against Ukraine and to armed groups and entities in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.<\/p>\n

This additional measure, adopted through Council Decision (CFSP) 2024\/2894<\/strong><\/a>, Council Regulation (EU) 2024\/2897<\/strong><\/a>, and Council Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024\/2896<\/strong><\/a>, on 18 November 2024, is targeted to the use of vessels and ports for the transfer of Iranian-made Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), missiles and related technologies and components.<\/p>\n

Indeed, inspections of war materials found on battlefields in Ukraine by analysts from the G7 and Ukraine’s allied countries have revealed that substantial help from the Russian armed forces comes from Iran in the form of drones and other technological material. To hinder the flow of these items, a ban was therefore introduced on the export, transfer, supply or sale from the EU to Iran of components used in the development and production of these armaments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
